This erasure and manipulation of history and minimising of genocide is repulsive, unethical and irresponsible.

The mass slaughter, torture, starvation and forced labour of an estimated 2 million people is not just some fun little art project.
In fact, the museum where the original photos are held never agreed to the images being used. https://twitter.com/TuolSlengMuseum/status/1381170912028860419?s=20
The original @VICE article can be retrieved but the images have been removed. However, there's this post on Twitter which refers to comparison images. https://twitter.com/vinkjohn/status/1380876964467249156?s=20
Another tweeter says one of the photos is her uncle and that his story was falsely represented. https://twitter.com/theycallmelyd/status/1381005057936785413?s=20
Whoever commissioned this piece at @VICE should be disciplined.

The photographer should cease the project, not be rehired, and publicly apologise.

It’s a disgrace.
