Brooklyn and Queens really had static and so did Harlem and the Bronx. Yonkers was its own world. And Long Island had( and still has) more respect than Staten Island shout out to Wu Tang Clan tho lmfaoo

Bronx niggas are rough& tough. On the poorer side. Harlem niggas are flashy and loud. Not chumps tho. They were bound to clash.Brooklyn niggas are rock solid and brash. Queens niggas can either be cool or slimy individuals. It all depends. It makes sense that they would clash too

Harlem cats would call BX dudes dirty and bummy and BX cats would call Harlem cats soft and pretty. Two different street perspectives. Brooklyn streets are real tough and cold even amongst each other so a rivalry with another borough close to it was 2nd nature

Long Island is its own world but would team up with any borough they had connects with. Because we ain't a borough and it is technically the suburbs we'd be labeled as soft and BK cats would diss Queens by calling it part of Long Island( they both technically are)

Yonkers is one of the worst hoods I've ever been to. My aunt(RIP) use to live out there and I have other kinsmen who live there. When we use to visit it was always some gangsta shit happening. Nearby Mount Vernon was more about hustling while Yonkers was just on some street shit

Them city connects is how a lot of sets from the city migrated to Long Island and it's why we have a gang culture here. It went from the boroughs right to Suffolk. You can find blood/crip sets out here with ties to whatever borough that set em up here.

But before all that stuff NYC had their own street gangs and crews authentic to this soil. My pops and the cats he ran with were just some real niggas from their blocks in Amityville as opposed to my cousins generation who became Brims because of the Blood takeover of NY jails

Staten Island gets joked on but Stapleton and Park Hill Projects I know first hand are their own world. I have a cousin from Stapleton and that shit was no joke in its heyday. Wu Tang emerged from them projects and wrote true shit
