The more interesting question is *why* this is bad, because that’s a question our society increasingly lacks the vocabulary to answer.

Consent or power dynamics can’t be the whole story, because, after all, two people can agree to this.

“Yuck yuck yuck” is a correct reaction but not sufficient to explain why society has an interest in forbidding it.

To have a coherent reason for opposing it, you have to believe that family relationships have definite purposes they serve for their members and for society, and that incest debases those purposes.

Which is not a very individualist way of viewing things. It’s also the sane way.
