"What can I do to bring my craft to the next level"

This is a question I've been asking myself and researching every day since I've started my stream break.

What values do I bring?

What legacy do I hope to achieve?

Some days I'll spend 5 days drafting a plan, then find flaws.
This may not be surprising, but I really don't like the current anime discourse meta.

Commentary like "those thighs" and "put that waifu in the bin" is tired, old, and doesn't add anything to the community.

The anime industry is underpaid, and people are proud to be pirates.
Believe me, I know what it's like to be there. I was a fansubber for multiple anime projects. I lived in an era where you downloaded episodes from KAZAA and got La Blue Girl instead of Naruto because you can't pre-check the video source.

We should still encourage paid services.
To my understanding, 50% of the anime produced today is funded from overseas efforts such as company buy-ins direct to studios.
What's hilarious is people are like "anime is gonna be monopolized under one omg" look at the writing on the wall. None of you pay to keep indies alive.
So no, I'm not guilting you for piracy if you can't access the service locally in your area, just buy what you can. But I also don't trust a lot of people to read through an entire post and accuse me of guilting people to actually contributing to the anime labor problem.
The next time you proudly tell someone on the internet "Nah don't pay for that go to website X they have it for free", that sets a low standard for consumption habits in the future.

Anyway, I may have deviated a lot here, but I'm still thinking about what I want the ChunandRice brand to be, and what I can do to really change things I want to change.

So thanks for your patience, and thanks for reading through this thread.

Keep living your best life.
