let’s talk about lil nas x’s islamaphobic tweets

DISCLAIMER: i’m a fan of lil nas and this thread isn’t meant to “cancel him” it’s to spread awareness about the things he’s said and how it’s been harmful to the muslim community. Also I am Muslim so don’t come in my replies saying i’m speaking over muslims voices.

As many of you may know lil nas used to run a stan account for nicki minaj called “nasmaraj”. On this account he has made very islamaphobic comments that have hurt the muslim community. He was known as one of the bigger barb stan accounts during this time period.

These tweets are very offensive especially since he is tying islam to terrorism when islam doesn’t condone any violence.

i found out about his islamaphobic tweets not too long ago and i’ve been a fan of him for many years now.

I’d like to believe that he’s a changed person hence the reason why i specified that this isn’t a “cancelling” thread

that being said you can never be too sure if someone has grown or changed unless they are able to admit and apologize for their past words and actions

his muslim fans and muslims that aren’t his fans want nas to sincerely apologize and acknowledge his harmful words
