Top tip: vaccine escape is one to watch. When it comes, it will be partial. Anyone saying its not something to worry about, or that complete escape is already here, isn’t interested in the science.

What can we do about it on a personal level? Take whichever vaccine we are offered straight away, and argue for vaccine equity.

Countries may make decisions on which vaccines are better for their populations as a whole, perhaps partly driven by concerns around this. However, for an individual, any vaccine offered is the best choice.

They are all good vaccines, and will protect you, those around you, and reduce the chance of escape.

Of course, keeping infection levels as low as possible by all possible means, will do the most to minimise the risk of escape.
