The pandemic has worsened in India. The latest data of covid cases in one day was 169k cases, each day there are more than the last time. In this dire situation, the board exams for students 10th and 12th are still scheduled to happen offline.
Despite the protests of many concerned students, parents and teachers as well, the government declared a few days ago that the exam will take place as scheduled with proper measures taken in place.
The measures are just that the centres for the exam will be increased and to wear masks and such. The problem here is this precautions have been taken from the start yet they are not effective because not everyone is following them.
Even if the centres are increased it isn't effective because each year there are around 30 lakh students who give board exams. There have been professional doctors who have been infected, how sure are they that mere students won't?
Students and all involved in this protest against board exams have suggested to grade the students with the internal assessment system like many other countries which have done yet there has been no response to our pleas.
Many official authorities have sent their letters to the education minister to take the decision as soon as they can but no response till now.
They have cancelled offline classes in schools and coaching institutes to protect the students' health but they haven't cancelled the offline exams, make it make sense. They are holding online meetings to discuss this while saying how they care about our health and that offline
Exams are safe. The hypocrisy. I am sorry this is messy but I am just so frustrated while making this thread, this has been going on for more than a week or so yet they are being so stupid. Even doctors advised that the second wave has been dangerous and it isn't safe as
The alleged new strain is affecting the younger age group from 10 to 18. 16 and 18 year olds are expected to give this exam while their lives aren't protected. The vaccine isn't allowed to be given to us because we are young. And if it were there is shortage of it in many states.
