I'm going to make a renewed personal commitment to use public transit, bike or scooter for every possible trip within my district and the city.

I just rode from one end of District 6 to the other, almost entirely in protected lanes, TL to the Chase Center. It took 12 minutes.
I don't own a car, so I don't drive. But there are occasions when I take taxis or ride share, which I'm going to work to stop.

We all have to practice what we preach. And getting out of cars whenever possible, to walk, bike, ride transit, is good for our city & our environment.
People shouldn't have to risk their lives to get around our city safely by bike, scooter or foot. But far too often they do. Elected officials should see and experience that personally.

It also helps me understand gaps in our network, ways to improve accessibility, safety.
Improving active & public transit should be an unambiguous clear city goal not only in word but in practice. We all have to do our part, and show that it can and should be done.
I already take most of my trips by foot, some by bike, scooter, bus or train, and few by taxi/rideshare. I realize that people have different needs and barriers in terms of their transit options. But I believe it is important for me as an elected official to do this.
