Yo my coaches and trainers: if you have clients who will be fasting for Ramadan, it’s a good idea to open that conversation and not be an insensitive asshole by telling them if they wanted their gains bad enough they’d “figure it out”

What I have found to be most successful is having my clients train at night. They break their fast with an energy dense meal and start drinking water, and drink 1-2 liters of water or an intra shake while training. Then they finish with eating etc when they get home
It’s also a good time to remind people that you have to let your fitness goals fall in line during Ramadan, where fasting and often celebrating with family MEALS is a priority. Prepare them for a maintenance phase so they can focus on what truly matters to them!
Training in the AM can also work since you can eat/drink before sunrise. HOWEVER, you can’t eat/drink after training. So if you are an early bird, finish your session before sunrise so you can hydrate and eat post-training
If you’re training someone or programming for someone, week 1 of fasting should probably be reflected in the training. Bring down volume and effort. As the body adapts to the fasting schedule, you can ramp up training a bit
