As a DJ trying to build a following on social media, I’m fed up of feeling like I’m doing something wrong by posting mix videos. Big labels need to sort out a system with social media platforms to allow us to post without takedowns
2. I’m well aware that sites like Mixcloud exist, but let’s be honest, the general public aren’t using these platforms, and Social media sites don’t like you linking away from their platform. We want to post our content where the biggest audience already is.
3. Surely there is a way that labels could take revenue from our uploads and allow the posts to stay up? As long as the mixes are transformative and creative it shouldn’t be an issue, right?
4. A system should be set up where we have to declare any copyrighted material in our upload, so it can be properly credited and royalties given to the rights owner.
