Okay, so, the last couple of days I've been thinking about #SSSS_DYNAZENON a lot, and I figured I'd make a (let's hope) quick thread about it.

If only to stave off the madness.

*Disclaimer: This will be an extremely speculative thread. Also, kind of brilliant.

The thing that I am more interested on is the titular Dynazenon, or more specifically, it's... let's call it Super form, Dyna Rex.

Now, if you are in the know, you're probably aware SSSS.Dynazenon is a follow up to SSSS.Gridman, which in turn is a sequel Denkou Choujin Gridman, the 90's Tokusatsu show produce by Tsuburaya.

This is pretty well known, but I think people tend underestimate this connection.

SSSS.Gridman wears it's connections to Dekou Choujin in its sleeve.

Most people say you can watch SSSS even without knowing Gridman, a statement that I don't agree with.

Yes, you can enjoy SSSS as it is, but if you don't know Gridman you do miss half of the story.

And this is also true of Dynazenon, something that is incredibly evident since episode one.

That dragon statue that Gauma holds that "transforms" into Dynazenon is not any random Dragon statue, but an actual object that appeared in Gridman and that was the inspiration for the Dragon Bazooka, one of Gridman's assist weapons.

Remember this, it will be important later.

Now, if you're not aware, Dyna Rex is actually more powerful version of Dyna Dragon, an actual mecha from the original show, and this is where things get interesting.

See, Dyna Dragon and Dyna Rex are not exact copies.

Dyna Dragon, for starters, it's the transformed form of the Dragoon Fortress, a vehicle formed by combining the Dragon Bazooka with the King Jet.

If you've been watching Dynazenon then you know that Dynazenon/Dyna Rex is actually the fusion of 4 different vehicles instead of two.

Considering how strong the ties between Gridman and the SSSS series are, this is very odd.

Take the SSSS.Gridman for example.

In that show, the Neon Genesis Junior High School students are arguably the strongest connection this show had to it's prequel.

See, each of them is actually the human form of a mecha vehicle that assists Gridman.

And each of these vehicles is based on the assist weapons from the original show: Barrier Shield/Lighting Blade, Thunder Jet, Twin Driller and God Tank.

The colors are different and the appearance differs slightly, but in both shows they serve the same function:

Helping Gridman in battle and achieve his most powerful forms: Thunder Gridman/Full Powered Gridman.
