Every now and again I read some piece that makes it very clear just how grateful the older generations are for the various sacrifices the young made over the last year.
The idea that actually, there were no sacrifices and we were all in this together is boomer cope.
It's also worth noting that if left to run its course, COVID might have been a financial boon for young people. Less tax revenue goes on pensions, health, and social care. Freeing up underoccupied houses lowers prices, removing objections lets you build more.
The entire point of which is that we would still see that outcome as bad. Anyone celebrating it would be demonstrating as little care for our elders as they have shown for us.
