Yes, LaMarcus Aldridge had probably his worst game as a Net last night, but Nic Claxton had one of his worst games, too.
Claxton got carved up 4-5 times in isolation situations (his main value) against Dennis Schröder. https://twitter.com/mattbrooksnba/status/1381269231048740866

Claxton was not the answer to Drummond and the Nets subs reflected that. Claxton played just one possession against Drummond where he was overpowered & forced to foul. Nets immediately checked Aldridge in.
Nets are protecting Claxton from matchups he’s not ready for & strength is still an issue for him. He’s not the answer to Drummond/Embiid.
Nets will have to hope Aldridge improves or consider DeAndre Jordan. While DJ struggles in space, he’s still a strong body in the low post.

There’s a matchup for each big & interestingly enough the banished Jordan’s might be the best teams (LA & PHI). Clax’s value is as a switching big & he didn’t perform well in that regard last night, calling for him over LMA against Drummond isn’t the answer.
The entire team didn’t perform last night. While Aldridge’s performance was glaringly bad, he acknowledged it, I’m not jumping ship from LMA because of one bad game since coming to BK — he has been good.
I understand everyone loves Claxton — he’s the young, homegrown guy, with the intriguing skillset to dream on his potential — but the Nets purposely protect him & who he plays against for a reason. He’s still very raw.
