why are txt's covers all tasteful and yet still respecting towards the original? - a thread

if you're doing a cover of a famous song, you choose either 1 or 2.
1. you do the exact same thing without overexaggerating the improvs of the original
2. you reinterpret the whole song and give it an entirely different feel

how to be respectful?
- TRY to execute it the same way in terms of power, choreo and vocals
- esp if its a famous song by a famous senior, dont mess anyth up
- **dont exaggerate the improvs (pls)

for e.g. the original formation calls for 7 members but there is only 5

e.g. reinterpreting a song

esp if its in another language

there is bound to have some difference between groups but this is not the same as "putting in your own personality" or "interpreting the song in your own way"

dance covers with no original choreo

exhibit h: txt covering siracha by marteen

famous choreos especially debut songs by well known seniors MUST copied exactly because OG fans will see the difference and every little detail can make or break it...

older songs require alot of energy and you best believe you have to put in 1000% into choreo and vocals

how to dance a gg song well?

if its a gg song, dance like the original. dont go all toxic masculine

if you think covers should be with your own personality and interpretation, then expect critiques because fans of the original can tell the difference.
