What is antisemitism?; a thread
Antisemitism- coming from the root semite. Semitic/semite cultures is a term for an ethnic, cultural or racial group, that speak a Semitic language(Hebrew,Arabic, Armenian). However, in 1879, the term was used in a book describing hate for Jews, and is a common term since then.
Antisemitism is hatred/discrimination/prejudice against Jews, just bcz of their religion. A person who holds this position is called antisemitic/antisemite. Antisemitism is considered as a form of racism.
Historical events such as the ww2/Holocaust, the expulsion from Spain (1492), Kristallnacht (1938) and more, are all based on the antisemitism and the hate towards Jews.

Hitler had a racist world view. He believed that you can separate people into groups of races, where some are superior and some are inferior. As his believe, the German race is the superior group, and is called “Aryan”.
Jews were considered as the inferior group, and the main Nazis’ goal was to eliminate them, so Germany would be “clean”. (Together with the lgbtqia+, disabled people, poc, but the main goal was Jews). Since Germany was devastated after ww1 and many businesspeople were Jews,
Hitler believed they’re “ruining” the Germans success and taking their money. Therefore, when the Nazi party was formed as the government in 1933, Germany was affected by Hitler’s believes. Despite what many people think, the nazism didn’t begin in 1939 with the war.
In 1935, Nuremberg rules were posted, determining who’s a German citizen (Aryan). The rules prohibited Jews to enter diff places such as restaurants, cinemas, etc.
It is important to empathize that all of this started with words, in a book Hitler posted a book called Mein Kampf
(My fight) expressing the main Nazi party ideas.
