how to build diona ; a thread

first of all, who’s diona?
diona was released in version 1.1, she’s the bartender of the cat’s tail tavern.
vision : cryo
weapon : bow

this thread will explain how to build both dps and support diona !

for support diona you want as much HPs as possible, since both her skill and burst scale from them

there are two artifact sets that go well with support diona, retracting bolide (only 2pc) and maiden beloved
(if you’re going with retracting bolide i’d recommend 2pc rb and 2pc mb)

again, diona’s talents scale from HPs so you should prioritize them (both for main and sub stats), not healing bonus (although it could be a good replacement if you don’t have an HP% circlet)

this is my build! i know i gave her 4* artifacts but her shield works well so im focusing on other characters

“how much dmg can her shield absorb?”

the answer is: A LOT
as i said twice, HPs is what support diona needs the most!

now her weapons, in this case you should prioritize energy recharge since her ult’s energy cost is 80 (but it’s worth it)

favonius warbow is the perfect weapon for support diona, you get it for free after defeating dvalin in the prologue and, of course, through wishes

the passive ability works really well because you can just spam normal attacks until you get a crit (i do it and it works)

sacrificial bow is also a good replacement, but her skill misses sometimes, so beware if you’re using this with support diona!

now for her talents, if you’re building support diona the right order would be burst > skill > normal attack (not needed)

regarding her constellations, c2 and c6 are AMAZING for support diona, if you have them, use her! it’s just so useful

i’m not good with team comps but i think diluc would be the best one because of the melt reaction and the EM buff (c6)! otherwise you could go with xingqiu (freeze opponents), chongyun (cryo resonance), bennett (double burst buff), xiao (shield + healing during his ult)

im not sure about hu tao cause diona would heal her and i still don’t understand how hu tao works ... i apologize for this

for dps diona you want atk and cryo dmg bonus and you’re lucky cause her cryo dmg bonus increases when she ascends!

the artifacts set that could go well with dps diona are: blizzard strayer, wanderer’s troupe (4pc), gladiator’s finale (2pc), bloodstained chivalry (2pc) and retracting bolide (4pc)

again, you should prioritize atk and cryo dmg bonus!

this is my build!
main stats hp > atk > atk% > cryo dmg bonus > crit rate/dmg
for the sub stats try to get both crits, atk% and elemental mastery (not too much EM)

“how much dmg can she deal?”
charged shot dmg / burst dmg

this was with melt reaction and bennett’s buff on but she can still deal big dmgs if you build her well! (i didn’t have the right artifacts that time)
iirc she dealt 8K without melt reaction and bennett’s buff!

now her weapons, in this case you should prioritize atk once again, elemental mastery could work well too (if you’re building a team with elemental reactions) and crit rate !

elegy for the end is the best weapon i can think of because of the HUGE buff, i don’t know if it’s in the standard banner now .. if it isn’t then, don’t worry! there are other options

rust is another great option if you’re going with 2pc bloodstained chivalry!

and last but not least, the viridescent hunt; this is useful mostly because of its sub stat (crit rate), but it’s still a really great bow

now her talents, if you’re building dps diona you should focus on her normal attack, her other two talents aren’t that much needed with this build, but her shield could be really useful! so i’d say normal attack > shield

regarding her constellations, c4 is great if you’re good at aiming!

again, i’m not good with team comps, but the best ones for her could be bennett (buff + melt reaction), barbara (her skill + diona’s burst on to freeze opponents), qiqi (cryo resonance), sucrose (EM buff + CC)
