Practice radical listening.

If someone with an identity that is different than yours speaks about what is hurtful, what is damaging, or what is offensive, listen, learn, change, and use your social power and privilege to advocate for that person.
When a person who is differently abled says something is ableism, it is ableism.

When a person who is not white says something is racism, it is racism.

When a woman says something is misogyny, it is misogyny.

When a queer person says something is homophobic, it is homophobic.
If they say something is hurtful, it is hurtful. If they say something is damaging, it is damaging. That is not up for debate. It does not matter if you cannot see it, or disagree.
The privileges we have blind us, and it is only by listening to people with different lived experiences that we can begin to learn and grow our understanding.
