Leftists need to understand how compromised by imperialiam international academic, NGO, press, and human rights orgs are. You shouldn't trust anyone about the global south just because they have a PhD, or institutional backing. If anything, this should make you trust them less.

Look at the histories of the universities and NGOs that focus on the global South. Look at the efforts the CIA and intelligence communities put into recruiting from foreign studies schools, especially the ones that focus on the global South. Look at ties to the IMF/World Bank.

Look at historical links to colonial institutions. Look at the funding sources. Look at the boards of directors and executives and their backgrounds. Look at the ties to Western military and intelligence agencies.

Look at the support academics have given to violent coups and fascist oppression going back over a century.

These institutions and academics and journalists should simply not be trusted. They are overwhelmingly the enemies of the working people of the world.

The question, then, is who should you trust? Sorry, but finding truth is hard work in this day and age. You have to do a lot of work and research. But a good place to start is building connections to working people in the global south.

Use your communist and anarchist organizations to reach out to orgs in other countries and begin building a real network of working class movements, build an international movement. I'm working on this now to connect Vietnamese workers with foreign communist worker groups!

Only by building authentic connections with each other can we liberate the global south. Western NGOs and institutions exist only to rob us and deceive you. Don't trust the imperialists and their puppets!
