Okay people:
If you are a suspected COVID case - and haven’t been able to test - please do not panic. There is a shortage of kits around labs in the city due to the surge. Unless your oxygen saturation drops or you have other serious clinical symptoms - please do not panic!
Your test will get delayed by a few days irrespective of which area you’re in. Ideal would be to isolate and quarantine assuming you’re positive and following all safety protocol until test reports arrive. Keep reporting symptoms to your treating doctors ONLY!
Please do not seek advice on medication on social media because although people mean well this is not the time to self medicate. Do not take medication which somebody else has been prescribed. It’s not a standard prescription! It’s symptom based.
Please do not pop Ivermectin or antibiotics like you would take paracetamol! Track your oxygen saturation, fever spikes and other symptoms, make a note, helps the doctors.
Contact your nearest BMC war room for bed requirements in case you develop breathlessness.
Continue your supplements, fluids and food intake like you would do with other prescribed medication.
Unless your treating doctor advises admission please do not insist on it because there is a genuine shortage of beds in both government and private hospitals around the city. Please do not get admitted if you’re capable of isolating at home and follow the doctors instructions.
If not immediately, get the other family members tested as and when possible in the coming days as per availability of tests. If still not possible to get tested then all should strictly home quarantine for 10 days. Especially people living in smaller homes with not enough space.
If you live alone and do not have helpful neighbours, seek help from friends. If your parent is living alone and is sick, and you live away, enlist help of those you know nearby you can definitely call on.
