This 2017 @TfL paper ‘Understanding and managing congestion in London’ is an excellent read. Some highlights:
1) build more bus lanes
[but... how do you fit a double bus lane in a 3.5m wide lane? 🧐] http://content.tfl.gov.uk/understanding-and-managing-congestion-in-london.pdf
3) Key Factors to Congestion across London:

Recurrent demand = too many cars
Excess demand = even more cars than usual
cycle lanes and LTNs = do not feature on the chart
4) I did not know this! Thought it was a borough thing. What are the mayoral candidates saying about a #workplaceparkinglevy then? Does anyone know?
5) One @LondonParklet at a time baby! 🌱
6) One more time for the people at the back: reallocating road space away from private cars REDUCES CONGESTION over the medium to long term. Indeed it is one of the more effective ways to do this!

Anyway the whole thing is well worth a read. Roll on road user pricing!
