Could we organize an international Government-as-a-Platform ( #GaaP) Conference? I would be happy to help. @acroll could @fwd50conf facilitate this? There is interest from @OECD + so much we could learn from around the world @PublicDigitalHQ @DigitalNations
@daeaves @richardjpope @piacandrews @timoreilly @tomskitomski have all written interesting stuff @bmwelby and the OECD team talk about it in their fall report: https://www.oecd.org/gov/the-oecd-digital-government-policy-framework-f64fed2a-en.htm could help us frame conversations
3/ @andrewjb_ and the @InstituteGC have also done some really interesting work as have @TanyaFiler @antonioeweiss with the @BennettInst
4/ There is the model laid out by @KristoVaher @sikkut in #Estonia and everything happening with the digital service teams like @GDSTeam @CDS_GC @18F @DTA @ODS @eGov_EU @cdps_wales @DigitalGovtNZ @teamdigitaleIT @USDS @digital_nsw both that have worked and not
5/ Given the potential for #GaaP to transform how we think about open government it would be great to get the @opengovpart involved. #GaaP opens up a whole new way to look at the potential of #opendata. We could pull in the @OpenDataSociety @od4_d @OpenGovHub @ODIHQ
6/ @timoreilly vision helped launch the #civictechmovements championed by people like @pahlkadot which is #GaaP in action and has lead to the incredible CodeFor groups ( @CodeforAll @code4ca @codeforamerica @CodeforPakistan @code4africa @CodeandoMexico) and groups like @mySociety
7/ Then there is the incredible networks of public servants like @OneTeamGov @OneTeamGovCan @OneTeamGovNZ and through @apoliticalco who I imagine would be eager to participate
9/ 10 yrs ago @timoreilly published his article on #GaaP a year later @GDSteam was created. Since then it has become a common frame to describe government of the future but it is coming to mean so many different things. What can we learn from the past? What does the future hold?
10/ On this the 10th anniversary of #GaaP, It is time for us to come together to reflect, share, learn and dream!
