Exciting to read an article by the brilliant @feesable on #CultureCollective as a national initiative of co-production for Covid recovery. I told Fee that I& #39;d tell some of background - I tell the parts I know here, in the hope that others involved will add other parts - a thread

Several contributions to the call for ideas suggested the state paid creative freelancers to work in community settings - these included @Common_Weal @culturecounts and @TheStovies whose submission is below
When the Advisory Group for Economic Recovery reported in July, in the section on Culture one of the 3 priority actions recommended was to form a & #39;National Arts Force& #39; of freelancers working in communities
Meanwhile the Committee for Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs led by @JoanMcAlpine was also gathering ideas from the Culture sector for Covid - part @TheStovies response below:
When Scot Govt @FionaHyslop published their response to AGER it proposed #CultureCollective as a means of delivering the & #39;Arts Force& #39; idea and tasked #NationalPartnershipforCulture with taking the idea forward
National Partnership for Culture ( https://www.gov.scot/groups/national-partnership-for-culture/)">https://www.gov.scot/groups/na... convened a working group which I chaired with fellow NPC members @NicolaKillean @fct_ceo and Simon Sharkey, Jill Miller, @Pippa_Carnegie and @CreativeScots @kari_di Gary Cameron and Joan Parr
At the end of September the NPC working group presented a draft of the #CultureCollective programme and @CreativeScots took over the delivery of the project announcing the Fund in November with a value of £1.5M

As @feesable says in her article #CultureCollective has the potential to be a real gamechanger in the way we think about the role of culture in our society - lets hope partners across all sectors can see that potential and embrace the initiative for the benefit of our communities
