Everybody: haha school is so dumb it didn’t even teach me how to do my taxes.
School: I gave you 12 years of arithmetic and reading comprehension education FOR FREE!

Also, doing your taxes is only as difficult as it is to maintain Intuit’s TurboTax business. They’ve been lobbying against simplifying the tax process for decades.

So maybe the real complaint should be “school is so dumb it didn’t even teach me that capitalism will go out of its to make the most banal part of my existence a living hell just to wring $65 out of me every April.”
