I tweet for the people who don’t want to ask their doctor about ADHD because they’re afraid that they’re faking it/looking for attention.
I tweet for the people who want to get evaluated, but can’t afford it.

I tweet for those who were brushed off—the black folk, the adults, the girls that are disproportionately undiagnosed and misdiagnosed with something else.
I tweet for those who are not believed—those who seem “too smart”, “too successful” to have ADHD

I tweet for those who dropped out, failed courses, got fired/quit, couldn’t keep up with personal connections because of their symptoms and received no help.
I tweet for you, because same. I delayed getting evaluated because I kept trying to convince myself that all I needed to do was try harder, read anti-procrastination books, and “apply myself”.

Stop gaslighting. Advocate for yourself and your lived experiences.
Getting diagnosed as an adult doesn’t mean your ADHD is less manageable.

Support doesn’t start & end at medication, it’s beyond that. It’s finding others who are just like you, getting better resources to help, and the missing puzzle piece for everything to start making sense.
ADHD people are susceptible to suffering with addiction as a way to self-medicate and cope with their symptoms. ADHD people can have depression & anxiety as a comorbidity (jointed diagnosis), and are at a higher risk for su*c*de.
