Found this VERY interesting PhD about @RedCrossAU conducted while I was working there. So much I’ll share like
discrimination

I’m sure Red Cross will hang on to this first sentence. But the reality is now f it walks like a duck.... it’s time they listen to what Indigenous ppl are saying about them. Actually Listen
There it is
‘The structural racism of an informal ‘apartheid’ between Aboriginal & non-Aboriginal communities that has historically subsisted & largely continues in country towns, was reflected in Red Cross’

So @RedCrossAU had a person in HR as National Indigenous employment manager. They got rid of that role years ago. Now I hear, you guessed it Diversity & Inclusion person

Here’s the problem @RedCrossAU think more Indigenous ppl is the answer. Like safety in numbers. Instead of a safe place for one Indigenous person. ‘Diversity & Inclusion’ isn’t the response. An Anti-racist organisation is the answer
So yeah. Nothings changed here. I mean after working there for 9years @RedCrossAU didn’t even do an exit interview with me
