Press Club of India has 4,200 journalist members, 900 associate members, few dozen corporate members & a Lutyen zone property at 1, Raisina Road (obviously given at taxpayer’s exp), where they are eligible to subsidised food and subsidised liquor!

Yesterday PCI organised an election for their body; just like @ECISVEEP , they too have an election commission, difference is that their voter list didn’t go beyond 4200 & guess what-all sorts of charges flew, thick n fast, of intimidation and even forged withdrawal of Pallavi G

Why should a prime Lutyen property be used as a place for cheap/ subsidised food and liquor for 4200 members in the name of press and press freedom? If that land is Govt land, then why PCI shud NOT be stripped of its possession & land be used to start a good journalism school

May be, may be- that school might give us few good quality journalists than 4200 parasites who can’t even hold a simple election of their member body but happily comment on @ECISVEEP & its election process for 1.3 billion strong population!

Thanks to @centerofright I came to know that the so called property of #PressClubOfIndia 1, Raisina Road, was allotted to Feroze Gandhi as his residence. As journalists used to assemble at his place for his free daaroo, it was later made over as a sasti daaroo joint for journos!
