@BlindTemple is awaiting a new lease on life. Thirteen years ago, he was diagnosed with late onset Type 1 diabetes. His doctor believes that he lived with his illness for ten years prior to being diagnosed.  Unfortunately, due to lack of treatment for that extended period of time

Temple suffers from neuropathy, blindness, and end-stage kidney failure.  Doctors now say a kidney transplant is critical to his survival.  While awaiting his transplant, Temple endures regular dialysis treatments, which take a toll on his quality of life.

This has been a difficult time for Temple, as he’s not able to be as active as he once was. He is extremely grateful for the love and support of his six nieces and nephews, family and friends, who have all been by his side every step of the way.

Temple still enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons with his family and friends, but he had to give up more strenuous activities because he is often too fatigued. Temple looks forward to being healthy enough to return to work, travel, and spend more time with his loved ones,

but right now, he needs your help.
Unfortunately, Temple’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.
The average kidney transplant costs approximately $442,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs,

he faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.

Temple lives 95 miles from the transplant center, and he incurs substantial expenses each time he visits for evaluations and doctors’ appointments. Because of his health challenges, he is unable to work, adding to the financial strain.
