I know that this has pretty much been and gone in terms of relevancy now, and I'm not posting this for "clout" I just need to get all of the word vomit in my head out somewhere... But I wanted to weigh in on this whole Vinesauce Vinny situation: A thread. /?
I have read through the document pertaining to alleged sexual abuse/harrassment/misconduct between Vinny and as of this moment 4 women.
I'm writing this, not as a fan of Vinesauce or Vinny, but as someone who has suffered sexual abuse and someone looking in from the outside.
From the details in that document, and the supposed evidence, putting the moral implications of having sex with your fans aside, I truly and honestly see no evidence of sexual abuse, misconduct or harrassment. If the email evidence within is to be believed as real -
Then it reads as though Vinny is being very sincere and honest with his feelings. What he says very clearly contradicts the way these women are portraying him, which begs the question: why even use those emails as evidence against him?
He never once in those interactions seemed threathening, or seeming like he would expose these women. He even says it was never his intention to hurt them. Just that he felt like one of them was trying to find dirt on him to expose him.
Something the comes up a lot in this document, is the women in question saying that they clearly consented to whatever happened between them and Vinny. They then go on to say that months later, they had a change of heart. You cannot recind consent after the fact.
It just doesn't work like that. You had ample opportunity to say no, as he mentions that he asked multiple times if these women were ok with what they were doing together. To decide after all is said and done that you weren't ok with that? I'm sorry, thats on you, not him.
You knew what you were getting into. You reached out to him. What you and him do behind closed doors is no one's business but his and yours. The fact that you've put this on the web for the whole world to see is honestly disgusting.
If you had any doubts going into it? any at all? you should have said no from the beginning. He didn't force you into any of this. But you've put his career on the line, and for what? 15 minutes of internet fame?
My own personal opinion on the document, however irrelevant, is that is reads like it was written by one person who felt hard done by due to Vinny not having the same feelings she obviously had for him, despite claiming otherwise. And they decided to go on a skewed rant.
In closing, I really think that these matters should have stayed between Vinny and the people in question. They were all consenting adults, and regardless of how they felt after the fact, it did not warrant this attack on his character and career.
