The same people who shove woke ideology down everyone's throat insisting that minority communities get monopolies over certain discourse are often the same people who entirely ignore Muslim voices unless they align with the most liberal Western values out there.

Case in point: When there was a big hullabaloo over "What is Islam" by Shahab Ahmed, the loudest voices cheering it on were non-Muslim academics, who were happy to have an excuse to not have to consider Muslim theologians anymore.

Muslims in & out of academia mostly ignored it.

Now non-Muslim academics feel justified in telling religious-minded Muslims in academia that they can't insist on their own "conservative" interpretations anymore.

Imagine white people telling black people what they can and can't say about their own history, culture, & thought.
