I heard that Youtube (owned by Google/Alphabet) took down a video of Florida Gov DeSantis hosting a round-table retro on covid-19 with Scott Atlas, Jay Bhattacharya, and others. That interested me.
As I& #39;ve previously tweeted, I& #39;m profoundly concerned about censorship and other forms of thought-control beginning to be exercised by the Tech Titans like Google, among others. https://twitter.com/zooko/status/1244352094112337920">https://twitter.com/zooko/sta...
Of course, they say that they& #39;re doing it for our own good! For good reasons. And honestly, I believe that they believe that. But that doesn& #39;t assuage my fear about its potentially deadly effects on our society.
Anyway, since I had previously listened to a few interesting interviews with Bhattacharya, most recently https://www.econtalk.org/jay-bhattacharya-on-the-pandemic/">https://www.econtalk.org/jay-bhatt... ...
and previously https://twitter.com/zooko/status/1246907545924452353">https://twitter.com/zooko/sta...
And since I had recently seen this interesting video in which 60 Minutes (CBS)& #39;s edited version of an exchange with DeSantis comes out looking very different from the full 3-minute video: https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1379095491233910785">https://twitter.com/DailyCall...
(See also the Washington Post& #39;s editorial about that exchange: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/04/07/60-minutes-hit-job-ron-desantis-is-everything-that-is-wrong-with-journalism-today/)">https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/...
So I decided to watch the round-table video that had been censored by Google. It& #39;s 1h45m. I thought it was an interesting, reasonable, evidence-based discussion, and the fact that it is being targeted for censorship scares me. https://reclaimthenet.org/youtube-deletes-ron-desantis-health-roundtable/">https://reclaimthenet.org/youtube-d...

៚ (Here are the rules for replying to this thread. You have to watch the full 1h45m round-table video, plus the full 3m36s 60-minutes-vs-DeSantis video before you reply. But you don& #39;t have to watch the two earlier videos with Bhattacharya.)
P.S. I said that it was a reasonable discussion and the fact that it is being censored scares me. That doesn& #39;t mean I think they are "Right"! What scares me is people who think that if you don& #39;t support censorship of something then you must think it is "Right".
HT @backus for tweeting about the takedown and the full video
