Like, if you have conservative family members, if you have conservative co-workers, then you know that they *will not stop spouting heinous Nazi shit in any situation* and everyone will consider YOU the rude one if you *engage them or challenge them at all or tell them to stop.*

Conservatives *own* mainstream culture. Their cultural influence is *vastly* more sizable than their actual numbers because *everyone is afraid to challenge them.* Any one conservative in the room will be automatically deferred to because no one wants to stop coddling them

Conservatives *pretend* their views aren’t being respected because they know a bunch of people with no principles and a fear of conflict will automatically take the bait and let them set the terms of the discourse as whatever advantages them.

For fuck’s sakes, Donald Trump was a *massive network television star* before he came in and wrecked everything. He hosted SNL *after* he made it clear he was running as an avid white supremacist.

The problem isn’t that we’re not tolerant enough of conservatism. It’s that we’re *way too fucking tolerant of conservatism.* Because for some reason we’ve decided being an admitted vicious sadist is fine as long as it’s your entire political worldview.

We *should* be doing everything conservatives accuse us in bad faith of doing. Being a conservative *should* get you kicked off platforms and barred from jobs. Because saying “I’m a conservative• is just a covert way of saying “I want people to suffer and die”

If we want to “respect” conservative we need to stop coddling them, stop treating them like poor sheltered misled toddlers, and start taking conservatism *seriously* for what it really is: organized, politicized cruelty.
