Here's a thread on why I write blogs and how that has completely changed my life.

I started out ~3 years ago with no knowledge of Python or deep learning. Doing simple data analysis on @pandas_dev was difficult -10/10 times I gave up on learning.
Decided to take a Data Science 101 course worth $5,000 AUD.

I learnt "much more" from the friends I made in the `DS 101` course than from the actual curriculum itself.
Then, someone pointed me to @fastdotai by @jeremyphoward. Having trained an img classifier within the first 2 hours of starting out, I was hooked to DL for life.

Day after day went by and I continued to learn. Weekends were spent watching @jeremyphoward and weeknights were spend coding and replicating Jeremy.
I wasn't the only one, again, I found a beautiful community of friends at the http://fast.ai forums.

I learnt everything from selfless people who were happy to help me for no given reason. So, now that today, I can read and understand "some" research papers, I feel like I owe it to the community to "give back"!
Doing so has also been utterly rewarding.

I've got the past 2/3 jobs based on my blog which has way bigger outreach and impact than my resume.
In one of the interviews, I was asked "What do you know about EfficientNets?"
I brought up my blog https://bit.ly/3s78wOI , and the next day I was offered the job.

Because of the blog I've been able to get in touch with DL folks who have always been my inspiration - to get to know them, talk to them, or if possible meet them is a "dream come true".

Lastly, writing blogs pushes me to learn! I wouldn't re-read the paper 10 times & care about the minor details if I weren't trying to write a blog about it.
And this learning helps me grow as a person, it has become a part of who I am and a part of my daily routine.

It's a great feeling when you're able to code something that you weren't able to 6 months ago. It's also very satisfying to give back.
Finally, here's a great article by @math_rachel on why you should blog that I would recommend. :)
