Why @MinxMore @JustaMinx shouldn’t make ‘not real Irish’ jokes;

Firstly some NI history, in Northern Ireland we have 2 main communities, Nationalists and Unionists. Nationalists mostly identify as Irish and Unionist mostly identify as British.

This is down to our very complicated history including the troubles and the partition of Ireland.

With the Good Friday Agreement Nationalists in Northern Ireland have the right to identify as Irish but even though it is our right we face sectarian abuse in most aspects of our lives for ‘not being Irish enough’.

Our identity, as Irish, is constantly invalidated and can literally put us in danger if we are in certain areas of where we live.

What Minx said yesterday was sectarian.

It’s a problem with a lot of Southern Irish people but seeing someone like Minx with a big platform like she does AND the fact she was also on Ludwig’s stream at the same time is really damaging.

Seeing Ludwig learn about our history in such an unbiased way was so refreshing to see but then when Minx turned it into a ‘joke’ just sat weird but thats more of a personal opinion.

With Minx being Irish herself those jokes are so much more believable. I’m aware she plays a character but playing an ignorant character like that isn’t cute at all and quite weird.

Minx I actually really enjoyed your content. Seeing an Irish person, like myself, make it so big with streaming is quite inspirational since its a career I would like to go down. But seeing you call my identity ’not real Irish’ was such a kick in the teeth.

I feel like you’re playing off of the ‘wrong timing’ thing because of the violence thats happening here at the minute.

Obviously that makes what you said in even more bad taste but apart from that you still shouldn’t make those kinds of jokes.

In no way am I trying to cancel you. Instead of deflecting the fact you offended people, its not that hard to just apologise and learn not to do it again!

Its the kind of thing you teach children I don’t understand how people don’t just own up and apologise.

Yes I am angry, rightfully, and that may come off in this thread but I’m not going to apologise for it.

I hope you see this and understand what you did wrong and you don’t do it again.
