//eating disorders

After the news of Nikki Grahame’s passing with a battle with eating disorders i just wanted to spread some more information regarding ed’s.
please be aware that eating disorders are mentioned through the whole thread with a mention of suicide- rts are welcome
Eating disorders are serious but treatable mental and physical illnesses that can affect people of all genders, ages, races, religions, ethnicities, sexual orientations, body shapes, and weights
Eating disorders are not a choice. They are complex medical and psychiatric illnesses that patients don’t choose, they present themselves in many ways- in order to suffer from an eating disorder you do not have to be a certain weight or have certain characteristics.
Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric illness. Besides medical complications from binge eating, purging, starvation, and over-exercise, suicide is also common among individuals with eating disorders.
if you feel like you may be suffering from any form of disordered eating please do not fret to speak out, once you have shared the problem you are facing battling it becomes much easier, eating disorders are violent and often silent, however you can beat them with help.
i’ve attached some links for help and places you can learn more about ED’s, the different types and symptoms. Please remember you are valid and any issues you face are also- you will get through any battles you’re facing but please reach out for help if you need.
