Thank you @rsaprano for the follow-up question! I knew that I was going to forget it by the time the stream was done, and this is the nudge I needed.

First of all, in the context of the question on the stream, if you already have a data warehouse odds are you already have AAD groups defined with appropriate access to the DW granted to group members. In this case, dataflows don& #39;t get you a lot on this specific front.

Ideally each organization will have a consolidated set of managed AAD groups that are used for access to all appropriate assets - data or otherwise. We both know that this is rarely the case in the real world, but it& #39;s still a noble goal.

The response I was going to make during the stream was about the benefit of dataflows for data discovery. Since there is not connection information required, authorized users can browse to the data without needing a server name or URL or the like. This is a big deal...

...but since it wasn& #39;t related to the question (and since I struggle with brevity from time to time https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😑" title="Ausdrucksloses Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Ausdrucksloses Gesicht">) I didn& #39;t want to elaborate while there were more questions waiting in the queue.
