Discussing Yuta's Anemone cover from vocal perspective - a relatively short thread.
First of all, WOW. I just found out ab it and I'm MIND BLOWN. This cover has so much significance for Yuta and his venture to becoming true, worthy vocalist.
This cover ranges from B3-C5. He went as low as B3 in chest voice (1:16) and as high as C5 multiple times (0:04, 0:10, 0:16, 0:23, 0:29, etc) in falsetto. his C5 here is his highest note he's ever showcased live.
It's not his highest note he's ever showcased though, it's a shame we never got to hear his dreamy (pun intended) E5 from Day Dream live.
Now onto belted notes, this cover blew my mind bc he not only hit but sustained B4, multiple times at that!! (0:24 and 0:48)
why does him sustaining B4s matter?
well, the only time we hear Yuta hitting B4 in mixed voice was his B4 in Come Back Japan Version (the one in Korean vers. was in falsetto)

And in neo city, he only belted it in Neo City Japan (or just in Saitama, idk, but certainly when 127 were singing the Japanese vers). Here's the live version.
Now even though he HAS showcased belted B4 before, that B4 was phrased, while in the Anemone cover, the B4s were sustained. There is a big difference in the level of difficulty.
This is why the B4s in Anemone were quite an achievement. The entire Anemone cover was something special on it's own bc the song sits on higher keys than he usually sings.
For example, in his White cover, he stays in his comfortable tenor range, he never goes higher than G#4, which means he understands his limits and tries not to abuse his vocal instrument; this is a sign of a smart vocalist.
Now the fact that he covered a song that demands him to mix higher than he usually does (D4-B4) and is confident enough to share it with the world really shows his will to develop as a vocalist.
Even though he is only a subvocalist, instead of staying in his comfort zone, he never stopped growing and keeps challenging himself vocally.
and if he continues to work on his vocals, maybe he'll become a great vocalist one day! For all I know, if it wasn't for 127 having strong main vocalists (TaeDoJae all are solid vocalists), he would've been a lead vocalist. He would've been one in any other 3rd gen group.
I sincerely wish for him all the best. He has a lot of potential and there's no stopping him if he really wishes to further develop his vocals.
