That feeling when you realize one of the prominent funders of Democracy Now! is the CEO of RealNetworks -- which @davegershgorn reported as selling facial recognition.

Everyone with money is allowed to have two faces.

In his profile, Glaser describes how he ran "The Campaign Against Militarism" in college.

And yet his company pivoted to selling facial recognition to the DoD.
If you look through the most recent 990 of Glaser Progress Foundation (for 2018), you find:

- UCSF: $200k
- Democracy Now!: $50k
- The Alliance for Climate Protection: $30k
- Innocence Project: $10k
- Fuse Innovation Fund: $10k

Glaser advertises having been on the board of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and serving on the Innovation Council of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (now US Agency for Global Media, which runs VoA, RFA, etc.)

Oh. I didn't realize the other board he was on -- Foundation for National Progress -- is the publisher of Mother Jones.
Don't worry. It's okay for Glaser's company to sell facial recognition to schools because he used to be on the board of EFF and is a member of the ACLU.

This is exactly the type of exploitation of nonprofit trust that should get one excommunicated from progressive communities.
