I should not have to explain that this is extra hurtful because I have, in fact, been raped. By an ex-partner who threatened to kill my friends because he was upset I was paying attention to them over him.

But I am going to say it, because I want to make people see just how cruel this fandom is — how cruel it can be when both intentionally and unintentioanlly

and all because I talk frankly about racism, because I express anger and disappointment openly at racist behavior from

people who claim to not be racist, people who say they are interested Chinese culture and value the contributions of Chinese people and diaspora to fandom

and why?

because I make people uncomfortable by being clear in expressing my anger and disappointment when somebody has done something messed up and racist

because I am sometimes angry, people believe I am always angry

but honestly, look at the lies you may be hearing about me. the lie about me being married to someone I am absolutely is funny on one level, but it’s also not

because it tells you the degree to which people are willing to distort the truth if it lets them be comfortable with themselve, their friends, what this fandom regularly does without thinking

it’s deeply, deeply fucked up.
