Andre Iguodala is one of the best defensive wings in NBA history. On top of his amazing defense he was a great passer and cutter off ball. In this thread I look at his 2012-2013 season with the Denver Nuggets in detail.
Iguodala’s offensive game centered around his passing, he was aggressive driving to the hole and had great touch to find teammates at the rim.
Iguodala was also great at initiating the fast break with cross court passes. He could fling the ball across the court effortlessly.
Iguodala was also great at running the fast break and when passed to was excellent at finding the open runner.
Iguodala could also manipulate the defense, he could pass out a shot fake which opened up teammates.
Iguodala also attracted a large amount of attention on these drives to the rim, his rim gravity opened up his teammates.
Iggy’s offensive game didn’t end at passing, he was also a good scorer. He great in transition.
Iggy was also a great off ball cutter.
Iggy was a decent rim protecting wing, he used his athleticism to get vertical and contest at the rim but wasn’t a great shot blocker.
Iggy was great in passing lanes and averaged 2.5 STL/100.
Iggy was a good on ball and great off ball defender making him one of the best wing defenders in league history.
Overall, Iguodala was one of the best 2 way wings in NBA history that combined elite passing with great defense.
