Brief Thread:

Let the former coach and his proxies continue to unload. Let them work with reporters to source stories that won’t amount to a hill of beans.

Let the local paper and talk radio devotees take shots. Let the interloping distant media opine as if engaged. Let them...
Recall there’s a rhythm to these situations. And legacies rarely reach their final form in a period of days or even weeks. For whatever reason, in the immediate aftermath of a firing lots rush to defend their millionaire pal. Few consider uncompensated student athletes.
Here, that rhythm/tendency is especially egregious considering allegations that medical staff felt they had a moral responsibility to intervene during a practice to safeguard the health and welfare of players.

With zero overweight players on the roster, they administered IVs...
Intravenous fluids.

Speaking of legacy, it might be helpful for some to examine, closely, which media outlets/members got so much of this so wrong. Why were they such a cheap date? And for what? Who kept their wits and refused to let one side mislead the fan base?
I, for one, take comfort knowing the Bearcats’ basketball program will no longer be controlled by someone who evidently cared so little for the University of Cincinnati (even sacrificing his integrity and another coach’s confidences on the altar of his vindictiveness).
The future of UC’s basketball program is now being written. I am rooting for John Cunningham and our athletics department, and I will support the next coach with vigor.

And I will ignore those championing coaching candidates based upon their desire for access/employment.
Bottom line:

...stand first and last for old UC.
