How to make your first sale

7 lessons from the book "$100 Startup"

** THREAD **
1. "Put happiness in a box and sell it"

Focus on your customer& #39;s needs.

Focus messaging on adding something positive or removing something negative from your customer& #39;s daily routines.
2. "Marketing is like sex (only losers pay for it).”

Before defaulting to paid marketing start hustling instead.

Reach out to others and offer value. Make it easy for others to share your work for free.
3. "Give people an offer they cant refuse"

Make your offer so compelling that buyers have no reason to say no.

Introduce some urgency to make buyers take action right away.
4.  "Offer a “no pain, all gain” refund option to build confidence"

Build trust by making it easy to trust you.

Offer a strong guarantee and dont make it hard for customers to get a refund, when requested.
5. "Give people what they want (not just what they say they want)"

Dig deeper to understand what your customer& #39;s true needs are.

Use your experience of what others want in your niche to go above and beyond for your customers.
6. "Action beats planning for micro businesses"

Avoid analysis paralysis.

Taking action and adjusting on the fly gets more results than planning every little detail.
7. "Value https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="➡️" title="Pfeil nach rechts" aria-label="Emoji: Pfeil nach rechts"> Freedom"

Freedom is what we all want. Value is a way to achieve it.

Create your own freedom by making something useful and desirable for your customers.
