"By 3:37 p.m., the Pentagon sent its own security forces to guard the homes of defense leaders. No troops had yet reached the Capitol."

At 4:08 p.m. Pence places urgent phone call to acting SecDef Miller, demanding answers.

Associated Press: “Pence said the Capitol was not secure and he asked military leaders for a deadline for securing the building.”

“& #39;Clear the Capitol,& #39;” Pence said.
4. Shortly before 2:30pm

"On the Pentagon’s third floor E Ring, senior Army leaders were huddled around the phone for what they described as a & #39;panicked& #39; call from the D.C. Guard."
5.

At 3:44 p.m., congressional leaders escalated their pleas.

“& #39;Tell POTUS to tweet everyone should leave,& #39; Schumer implored the officials."

[I assume this means he implored DoD officials, since the Associated Press is reporting about an internal DoD timeline.]
6. One friendly tip for reporters.

Associated Press reports DC National Guard commander Walker "had approval to send the Guard to the Capitol" by about 4:30pm.

Maybe DoD& #39;s timeline says that. But Walker testified it& #39;s not true. More delays until he got approval at 5:08pm.
