1/ For 10 mos I've been advocating for safe schools during. One thing I've learned doing this work is that many, many people have a baseline assumption that teachers are just not that smart. Even thoughtful, woke, progressive-types are guilty of this surprisingly often
2/ So many people have asked me "who's behind" my advocacy & questioned "who my source is." There is no source, y'all. I'm 1 civics teacher w a Twitter account. I read stuff & try to learn from ppl who know more about this. I try to share what I learn & get others to speak out.

4/ None of this thread is about any 1 person. It's a reaction to constantly feeling that I have to convince others of my intelligence, to being told that I'm not important enough or credentialed enough or whatever enough to even have a voice in the discussion.
