I'm a high schooler. A couple days ago our teacher tasked us with writing an editorial on what we're passionate about. I instantly chose cybersecurity. Getting a couple CVEs early, and having a good bug bounty career gave me something to look forward to in the future.
My editorial pushed the ideas of @hacknotcrime and I began to expand on the idea that sec is open to all, no matter race, gender, sexuality, or beliefs. That's what I wanted to believe.
Later on with the events that unfolded in the past couple of hours with @ECCouncil and notably another major event showed the pay gap and discrimination in this field along with many others.
It really opened my eyes. Thank you to @AlyssaM_InfoSec , @hacks4pancakes , @IanColdwater , @invertedgeek and I'm sure many others for speaking out on that. People need others to look up to.
