Since April 1, 130 COVID-19 patients have been transferred out of overloaded hospitals, some transported as far away as London and Kingston.

At Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, physician and nursing staff who don’t normally work in the ICU will be paired with an experienced ICU doctor or nurse to work as a team, said the hospital’s chief of staff, Dr. Ian Preyra.
