LinkedIn outbound message TEARDOWN...

"The exact WRONG way to engage your prospects on LinkedIn...

...and what you SHOULD do instead."

[SHORT THREAD]
MISTAKE #1 - Targeting

I've tweeted about this non-stop...

The FIRST thing you need to get right is your targeting

Pitching a LinkedIn outreach service to someone who offers LinkedIn outreach services

...only shows you have NO CLUE what you're doing at all.

2
MISTAKE #2 - LinkedIn profile headline

This headline is just terrible...

"Generating clients; growing your business; sharpening your toolbox."

a 0/10 score...

...and this person is a LinkedIn expert?

3
MISTAKE #3 - The First Line

"Hey James! Interesting summary..."

I'll give 1/10 only because it has my name.

'Interesting summary' tells me he hasn't read it as its a meaninglessly vague phrase.

Btw, the word 'interesting' should be BANNED from all copywriting you ever do.

4
MISTAKE #4 - The entire rest of the message

Again, 1/10 only

It's TERRIBLE from start to finish

>> A generic offer
>> No niche specialism
>> CTA 1 is terrible & CTA 2 is worse

"Drop it like it's hot"

If your prospects KNOW & LIKE Snoop Dogg then *maybe*

But if NOT... ?
THE GOOD NEWS

Instead of doing GARBAGE outreach like this, if you just:

1) Select relevant prospects
2) Lead with value (e.g. great case study, offer or unique mechanism that gets results)
3) Make it easy to take the next step

You'll be ahead of 99% of people on LinkedIn...
