LinkedIn outbound message TEARDOWN...

"The exact WRONG way to engage your prospects on LinkedIn...

...and what you SHOULD do instead."

[SHORT THREAD]
MISTAKE #1 - Targeting

I& #39;ve tweeted about this non-stop...

The FIRST thing you need to get right is your targeting

Pitching a LinkedIn outreach service to someone who offers LinkedIn outreach services

...only shows you have NO CLUE what you& #39;re doing at all.

2
MISTAKE #2 - LinkedIn profile headline

This headline is just terrible...

"Generating clients; growing your business; sharpening your toolbox."

a 0/10 score...

...and this person is a LinkedIn expert?

3
MISTAKE #3 - The First Line

"Hey James! Interesting summary..."

I& #39;ll give 1/10 only because it has my name.

& #39;Interesting summary& #39; tells me he hasn& #39;t read it as its a meaninglessly vague phrase.

Btw, the word & #39;interesting& #39; should be BANNED from all copywriting you ever do.

4
MISTAKE #4 - The entire rest of the message

Again, 1/10 only

It& #39;s TERRIBLE from start to finish

>> A generic offer
>> No niche specialism
>> CTA 1 is terrible & CTA 2 is worse

"Drop it like it& #39;s hot"

If your prospects KNOW & LIKE Snoop Dogg then *maybe*

But if NOT... ?
THE GOOD NEWS

Instead of doing GARBAGE outreach like this, if you just:

1) Select relevant prospects
2) Lead with value (e.g. great case study, offer or unique mechanism that gets results)
3) Make it easy to take the next step

You& #39;ll be ahead of 99% of people on LinkedIn...
