This week, Christian marriage speaker, comedian & pastor Mark Gungor called me disgusting, poison & arrogant; said he didn't respect me as a person & participated in sexual innuendo against me.

My crime? I shared data from our survey of 20,000 women to critique something he said
For years evangelical women have said, "men, please listen to us." We've been told, "of course we listen! It's your imagination that we don't listen!"

Well, I did everything right. I surveyed 20,000 Christian women about sex--largest survey ever done. To scientific standards.
Am I listened to? No. Instead, he laughs when his followers call me a pig and narcissistic, and he bans hundreds upon hundreds of my supporters who left thoughtful comments asking him to reconsider how his comments about marriage being a sexual contract can affect women.
On Twitter, he continues to hurl insults while I try to engage him in rational conversation about the issues. And yet he calls me the arrogant one.
Evangelical leaders, please listen: You are facing a crisis of confidence right now. So many women have NO FAITH that evangelical leaders care about us. We have no faith that we are safe in your churches. We fear you laugh at us and deride us and insult us when doors are closed.
For years, Mark Gungor's social media feed has been filled with misogynistic memes. Yes, he makes fun of men too--but the majority of his insults are aimed at women. Has he been called out? No. Instead, he is invited to speak at huge churches & pastors Celebration Church in WI.
He has spoken at U.S. military events. He has millions of views on YouTube. He is influential.

And when a woman comes at him politely with data? It's okay to deride her, to call her names, and to make sexual innuendo against her.
Evangelical leaders: If you are going to regain the trust of women, THERE MUST BE CONSEQUENCES TO THIS. Pastors, please speak up and say this type of talk is unacceptable in a leader. Please, say something. Women are watching.
