5 Year Cost of Ownership Analysis:

2016 $TSLA 70D Model S - $10,003
2016 Jeep Wrangler - $24,393
Purchase Price:

Tesla - $59.5k (including federal/state tax credits)
Jeep - $49k

Trade In Value from KBB on GOOD condition:

Tesla - $22,570
Jeep - $19,917
So even when considering the depreciation of both vehicles:

$TSLA Model S (which I payed $10k more for to start) still saved me a net $6500 in comparison to the Jeep Wrangler.
Not to mention the fact that ownership of the $TSLA vehicle was:

(1) 10X more enjoyable

(2) solidified my investment in this revolutionary company

(3) saved some CO2 emissions along the way

(4) brought me into the @Tesla community for life
What’s so interesting too:

Run the numbers on 5 year cost of ownership of a 2018 $TSLA Model 3 at the same level ($49k starting price), and the results are mind blowing 🤯

Cost of ownership - $10k
Cost of vehicle - $49k
Trade In - $21k

Savings compared to Jeep - $14k 😎
