I get that the highlighted impulse is rooted in the exhaustion marginalized people can feel from constantly reiterating first principles. But people fall into conspiracies in the first place by…looking things up! Flat Earth; Lizard People; QAnon; you name it.

Since “do your own research” fails to stop people from falling into hate and apophenia, but it is intolerable to expect the oppressed to constantly justify themselves, the only solution is…I got nothin’.

The simple answer is for those of us from privileged backgrounds to step up to the educational role. The only problem is, we are often ineffective at it.
