Thread on gender: Today my daughter & I went to a lovely shoe shop. A tiny store, selling interesting, well-made shoes. We patiently waited outside because the store has a 5-customer limit to ensure social distancing. It was chilly, so I wrapped my scarf around my little one.

We waited about 15 minutes. Inside, other women were waiting, also patiently. We exchanged smiles. The professional, lovely sales assistant worked hard, on her own - everyone could see it. Gradually, she helped each customer. Finally, we entered, & chose some shoes & waited.

As we waited inside the store, a man arrived. Like my daughter & I, he had to wait outside. We all bristled as testosterone oozed out of him. He complained, mouthed off about how pathetic it was, paced up & down, raising his voice, opening the door. We all bristled.
